Lexington Va. 22 June 1868 My dear Genl I this morng recd notice that the check about which you enquired in your letter of the 15th inst has been cashed. There is therefore no need of your troubling yourself further in the matter. It may be agreeable to you to know that all of Dr. Pendleton’s family are well. I saw them twice at church yesterday & particularly noticed your wife. I am obliged of you for information of my daughters. We are all as you left us, except that great calm prevails at the College since the termination of the Commencement exercises & the departure of the students Very truly yours R E Lee Genl E. G. Lee
