Ft. Delaware June 7th 1864 Dear Sister-- I have at last some prospects of getting a letter through the lines. I was captured near Spotsylvania on the 12th. May and arrive at this place on the 17th. I am very comfortably situated, have an abundance of bedding and will get clothing this week. I have heard from Sallie and Uncle William both of whom have kindly offered me assistance. Sallie is not very well but Tell is in excellent health. Uncle William, Aunt F. and three children are well and living in Paris, Ky. If it is possible I wish you to write, you may get a letter through by directing Per Flag Truce, Ft. Delaware Officers Barracks, Div. 22 Care of Capt. Ahl, A.A.A. G. We have religious exercises here regularly and there is a great interest manifested, about twenty have professed faith in the last fifteen days. Lieut. Lyle is well. I dont know anything about the rest of the company as we were separated from them. May God bless you all and grant that we may meet again if not on this earth, in Heaven. Give my love to all friends, Your bro, Lt. A.T. Barclay
