dc.description | Student statement about their experience: "My year abroad would be impossible to sum up in just words. After 9 months in London I’ll never be able to handle unorganized queueing or avoid and I will spend the rest of my life calling soccer football (sorry not sorry), and wondering if it’s going to rain. But, cultural quirks aside, most of all I have an important understanding of just how short this time in my life is and being gone for a whole year taught me how to enjoy every single moment, especially the smallest ones.
The highlights of my experience were all of the amazing friends that I now have all over the world. Friends that I hope will be a part of my life forever. London itself is such an amazing place full of new places to explore every day, no matter how long you are there for. I also loved how accessible London is with the rest of the world. Because I spent the entire 9 months overseas I had the opportunity to travel to other new places such as Italy, France, and even Israel/Palestine.
I recommend that you spend at least a semester abroad. You need that time to build up relationships not only with other people in your program, but also the city that you are living in. Take time to explore and absorb everything that you can; that education, the one you receive from meeting new people from all overt the world and experiencing a whole new culture, will teach you lessons that you could never get from a classroom." | en_US |
