I interned with Greenhouse Coffee, a company that owns and franchises coffee shops in cities around China. Greenhouse employs the deaf and disabled community, uses coffee from ethical sources, and practices other socially-responsible behaviors. Because Xining has a concentrated Muslim population, I was able to witness remarkable prayers during Ramadan. I was also able to visit Tibetan villages (technically outside the Tibetan border), where I toured important Buddhist temples."
