These photographs were taken by Katherine Kraus Uhlir during May and June, 2014 in England. The subject was early modern relic research with Professor Pickett. These photographs were part of the Study Abroad Photo Exhibit on October 14, 2014. Katherine Kraus Uhlir is a member of the class of 2016 of Washington and Lee University. Student statement about their experience: "Professor Pickett's research on early modern relics and reliquaries led us across England from Durham in the north to London in the south. We visited colleges, convents, and Cathedrals in our quest for relics. I learned about the bloody realities of the English Reformation, how faith remained steadfast during persecution, as well as encountering the continuing devotion of many English Catholics today."
