| dc.description | Student statement about their experience: "I studied at the Center for Cross-Cultural Studies through the Spanish Studies Abroad program stationed in Sevilla, Spain. The flamenco and Catholic styles fused with the Muslim influences from the Islamic conquests of Spain made this traditional Spanish city a particularly interesting place to study. I took a Spanish history class taught in Spanish along with a grammar and conversational class. The southern proximity of Seville made excursions to neighboring countries possible and convenient. Experiencing the cultural differences in Portugal and (especially) Morocco was an eye-opening experience. Traveling to a different country with a different culture has enabled me to better grasp my own cultural identity. This summer taught me so much about myself and I hope to travel again (anywhere!) as soon as possible." | en_US |
