dc.description.abstractChildhood trauma, which disrupts brain development, is disproportionately common in poor families. Current interventions focus on two main protective factors, parental attachment and creative expressiveness, which often are not accessible to poor families due to structural barriers inherent in their lifestyles. As I conclude, a Rawlsian argument demonstrates that society has an obligation to address the challenges faced by traumatized children and their families via innovative techniques and strategies.en_US
