dc.descriptionThis is a detailed statement of expenses accrued by Rosa Lewis to be deducted from the legacy left to her and her daughters by Hugh Adams. Rosa was left 500 dollars outright. After distributions were made, the residue was divided amoung the beneficiaries. Rosa and her daughters, Edmonia and Sarah, each received $305.79 as their share of the residue. Rosa spent 700 dollars to purchase her husband, Reuben, from A. Withrow. After settling various accounts this statement indicates the payment of the remainder of the legacy ($8.65) to Rosa. The document was witnessed by W. McLain, Fin. Sec. A. C. S. (American Colonization Society).en_US
