dc.descriptionThis receipt is on paper with a letterhead for Adams & Lockridge, Real Estate Agents, Buena Vista, Va. The names of Hugh Adams (presumably Adams, Jr.) and H. M. Lockridge appear at the top of the page. The text reads, "Rec'd of R. S. Hutcheson eight hundred dollars as amt put in by him on a purchase of houses & lots purchased Nov. 17th by H. M. Lockridge for an Investment company known as the Pocahontas Investment Co. which entitles him to a proportional part of the profits of said purchase to the amt put in. This the 18th Nov 1890." It is signed Adams & Lockridge. The reverse carries this note: "By cash on the within June 3, 1891 of Adams & Lockridge Eighty dollars."en_US
