This paper is divided into eight sections. I begin with a discussion of existing literature on the sociocultural factors which produce migrant women's disproportionate vulnerability. I then introduce three moral frameworks that elucidate just why the state has a moral obligation to address such vulnerability. Having established the state's responsibility, I next discuss steps that the state has taken to acknowledge this responsibility and flaws within those steps. Then I explain why and how I conducted interviews with the immigrant population and describe the results of those interviews. Finally, I make several policy recommendations and suggestions for future research as well as establish a humanizing argument for why readers ought to consider the issues I analyze in this paper.
